[KESQ.COM]The simply comedic 500 lb, scooter driven (and, most recently) suspended Las Vegas Judge Elizabeth Halverson has filed paper’s to seek reelection, dispite a rash of ghastly and embarrassing publicity during pretty much her entire tenure on the bench.
Halverson is going to face a challenger who's promising to air allegations that prompted the state Judicial Discipline Commission to bar Halverson from her Clark County District Court seat.
Las Vegas Family Court Judge Stefany Miley says it'll be important for voters to know Halverson's track record.
Another possible candidate, Las Vegas lawyer Troy Peyton, says he'll withdraw from the race.
Halverson was elected to a 2-year term in 2006.
She's contesting discipline panel allegations that her performance on the bench "posed a substantial threat of serious harm to the public and to the administration of justice."
Meanwhile, she continues to collect her $130,000 annual salary.
You can peruse our prior Halverson posts here.
And good luck Judge Halverson!

I've been following the hearing and I think her behavior is not excusable- especially her treatment of the bailiff. She has no business being a judge.
To think that she would have a chance at getting elected after receiving less than ten percent of the vote is ridiculous.
The comic at the top made me laugh, by the way.
