Is it possible that a woman could be so sexy, even in a conservative business suit, that no men in the office can get any work done?
That is precisely why Debbie Lorenzana claims in her wrongful termination suit that she was fired from her job at Citibank-- her bosses told her they couldn't concentrate on their work because her appearance was “too distracting”.
Lorenzana, a 33-year-old single mom, pointed out female colleagues whose clothing was far more revealing than hers:
"They said their body shapes were different from mine, and I drew too much attention," she says."Men are kind of drawn to her," says Tanisha Ritter, a friend and former colleague who also works as a banker and praises Lorenzana's work habits.
"I've seen men turn into complete idiots around her. But it's not her fault that they act this way, and it shouldn't be her problem”, a Village Voice story reports.
Lorenzana's gender discrimination suit was dismissed last month because her deal with Citibank called for any disputes to be settled in private arbitration. She's pressing on with her case there.
"Are you saying that just because I look this way genetically, that this should be a curse for me?" she told the Village Voice, which first reported her case.In a statement, Citibank said, "We believe this lawsuit is without merit and we will defend against it vigorously."

If you can't be fired for being too ugly, too fat, too skinny, too tall or too short, how can you be fired for being too attractive? Sounds as if the men she works with are thinking with the wrong heads. No wonder the banking system is in such lousy shape.

Most employees serve "at-will"-meaning they can be fired on the notice specified in the employment agreement for the dumbest of reasons or for no reason, as long as the firing is not due to discrimination based on race, age, or sex (or in some places, sexual orientation), or because of a recognized disability or in violation of a recognized public policy.
Don't think that thin, or fat or ugly or pretty is a protected class.
Think about it--that means NO ONE could EVER be fired.

Yet they're rewarded for their educational ignorance due to their skill in one particular field with millions of dollars..while your local doctor, nurse, policeman, fireman, sanitation worker, teacher, etc never will see such reverence from its peers. You all seemingly flock to pay homage to these self-annointed kings and queens of the world, it's pathetic to observe. Apply the same attention and satisfaction in observing the actions of a scientist that studys issues that directly concern you, that should be front page material and not "lady gaga" exposing her lack of a functioning brain. I'm not even discussing the Micheal Jackson, Ashley Dupree, Barry Bonds, Mark Mcgwire, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Elliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Donald Trump, this list is expansive but you should get the point. People are inherently instinctive, primal, and selfish creatures but society conditions you and cultivates your adjustment into a "functioning" society. This one in particular is hypocritical, selfish, intellectually stunted, and continues to descend to the depths of utter stupidity. At least "jersey shore" is over..oh, wait! Season 2 is underway...(nods head)..wonderful t.v. programming...I feel brain dead already.

In this post we discuss the fact that seven years before Lorenza’s firing she not only got extensive plastic surgery and was planning more, she was a cast member on a plastic-surgery TV reality show and claimed her intent was to snare a rich man.
Your arguments have some validity up to the point where you tarred us, and everyone else in America, with the same cliché brush.
We do not follow football or basketball (let alone blindly idolize its star players), nor is there a single TV reality show that we have watched, excepting a few minutes here and there where we were mesmerized by Dog the Bounty Hunter.
The "you" described in my post is a general term to be applied to anyone, and everyone, that has sat on their couch and watched any segment of a "reality" show, has exercised conscious, or subconscious, selfish ideals, has practiced amoral behavior, or violated any ethics code willfully. Which can lead me to safely conclude 90+% of the public. Nod your heads unapprovingly, but you can't deny your past. Everyone has walked over someone or cut someone's throat to achieve some level of personal "success". I have done the same, but I don't reject the notion, I embrace it. Masquarades...paper faces on display, hide your face so the world will never find you. At the very least she displayed her true personality, confessing to using her physical appearance to lure a insecure wealthy knucklehead that's in need of a witless "trophy" wife. She allocated her funds in hopes of cosmetic beauty to enhance her manipulative skills, yet fell flat on her attempts due to a lack of a brain...the one surgical procedure that she never paid a dime. What a "beauty"..*barf*..spare me.

People can live as they choose, and in this country at least, are free to do so within the boundaries of the law.
